Definition
The same cloth as the metre cut, sold uncut in whole bolts so a production run is drawn from a single dyeing day. The unit being sold here is consistency, not a different fabric: a bolt avoids the seam-to-seam variation you inherit when metres come from several lots.
The reason to buy a bolt is arithmetic: production waste, shade matching across sizes, and one line on the packing list to check on arrival.
How bolts are packed and checked
Wound on a tube, wrapped in plain film, boxed with the lot number and the metre count on the label. Inspection is a counter roll in daylight plus a shade card kept from the same day, not a promise that every metre is identical.
What a bolt does not solve
Time. A bolt of this cloth is made over weeks, so an order placed for a season is planned, not expedited. If your calendar cannot absorb that, order the metre cut for the sample and let the bolt run in parallel rather than asking for both at the last week.
